This past year was a horrible year in more ways than one. I’ve decided to only talk about the best things that came out of 2020. Over the next several days until the end of the year, I will be posting about my favorite and best things that I experienced in 2020.
Starting with video games, much like other categories I’ll go over, being at home gave me a lot more time to appreciate these things.
The video games I have listed as my best for 2020 came from Xbox. There are some other games that should probably be on this list, but because I only have an Xbox at this time, I was unable to experience them.
In no particular order, the best video games of 2020, according to me:
Doom Eternal – March 20 | PS4, Stadia, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC
Doom Eternal is a direct follow-up to the latest reboot of the Doom series. This is a fun run-and-gun style first person shooter with metal music and lots of gore. Doom Eternal challenged me, and I still play this as I’m yet to complete the game.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time – October 2 | PS4 & Xbox One
As an adolescent one of my favorite series on the Playstation was Crash Bandicoot. This was kind of a competitor of Nintendo’s Super Mario. This is the 4th game in the main series where the 3rd iteration was released 22 years ago! Needless to say I was eager to try this and it did not disappoint.
Cyberpunk 2077 – December 10 | PS4, Stadia, Xbox One, PC
You’ve probably heard rumblings of this game’s release in the media which gives it a bad reputation. I’ve had no problems playing this on the Xbox Series X and it’s a really fun game. To me it’s like Fallout meets Grand Theft Auto. I’m slowly playing through this as I know a bunch of updates are coming soon, hopefully.
Honorable mention that I did not have a chance to play:
Animal Crossing: New Horizons – March 20 | Nintendo Switch
